My first one broke within a week, This is really an awesome product. I work mostly in the operating room, where iPODs or other MP3 players are as common as scalpels. I have tried several portable speaker models for the iPOD, and I this the best. Not only is it fairly compact system, but it is self contained. It has a compartment to store and protect the iPOD. The rechargeable battery will play for at least 5 hours of continuous play on a single charge (I have not yet tested the maximum amount). The remote is very basic, but it is also very compact, and will work well at a distance of 10+ feet. The system also has a compartment for the remote.
